Unhooking SHADES
from the new VW Golf at LESC: a symbolic end to
our journey south. Putting together one working rudder
from parts of two of them was a priority, now that the
temperature was more seasonable. To our dismay, Marc
discovered that our rubberized extension tiller
universal was almost broken, and part of Monday was
spent tracking down a West Marine branch near Tampa
that had the required part in stock.

After a lovely
evening of settling in with the Murtos, Marc and Al left
on Tuesday morning to visit with Marc's uncle Gene near Tampa. On the way, we had to do a used book forage in Inverness where ... ... |

A long trip
down 19, parallel to the coast was highlighted by a
lovely visit with Gene before we moved on to West
Marine and our replacement tiller universal. Having
had Treasure Island (see map above) recommended
to us the last time we were in the area, we proceeded
along the Gulf to a nice Ramada Inn where were soon
checked in, and ...

The front
desk recommended Sculley's for dinner - and a
fine choice it was: great food and service along with
super atmosphere, plus fine live music in the
interconnected The Hut down below. We liked it
so much that we went back Wednesday night, too ...
