Race 7, 8 & 9 pics
by Rick Goldt & Uncle Al

Race 7: Scott and Paul Town. Dear old dad seems to re-living his Finn-sailing days!
...

As the other leaders near the end of the run of another triangle-sausage-windward race, Marc and Al are leading comfortably up the short beat to the finish, and will take a stranglehold on the series with this win.

Alastair closes in on the finish line in Race 7.

Race 8: Marc and Al have a healthy lead starting up the second beat, with ...
...
... Jens and Sharon (7663) running 2nd. Marc and Al should have tacked by now, to cover, especially since Jens is virtually laying the mark here.
...
Some boats have spotted better breeze under the cliff and ...
...
... shave the RC barge to get there.
...
Looking good on the right side of the beat, but ...
...
... so is the left side.

A lovely view on this fine Sunday morning!
...

Sharon and Jens looking excellent!
...

Mike and Kirk in flawless trim!
...

Al Nichols and Ken Nethercott (7380) will pass ...
...

... Mike Codd (r) and take an outstanding 3rd in this race.
...

Note the Finn run form for the spinnaker-less Scott Town (9239) once again. Theoretically, this keeps the Centre of (the sails') Effort more directly above the Centre of (the boat's) Resistance, and reduces helm.
...

Dolores and John (7351), winners of the previous race, have some catching up to do here!
...

More good spinnaker form from Dwight (4606), Mike (CAN 90) and ...
...

... Sharon and Jens in ...
...

... 7663.
...

The Fred Black spinny (7379) is at last up and drawing but ...
...

... Bob Kennedy continues to struggle ...
...

... to get his spinnaker going.
...

Here's what they saw from the RC barge: Marc in a decent lead, while Jens and Al Nichols fight it out for 2nd.

An amazing come-back for Alastair but especially for Marc who will round in first or second place here as I recall.
